Understanding Yourself Changes Everything

Nurturing Your Mental Wellness in Cheadle Hulme

"The privilege of a lifetime is to become who we truly are"  Carl Jung

Counselling isn't about becoming someone different. It's about understanding yourself more deeply, letting go of what no longer serves you and living more authentically. When we begin to understand ourselves, we often discover greater freedom, confidence and peace.

Areas of Support

I believe that we're all doing the best we can with the understanding we have at the time. When we begin to understand ourselves with greater compassion, change often follows naturally.

Anxiety & Overthinking

My mind never seems to switch off

Feeling Stuck

I feel stuck and don’t know what needs to change

Burnout & Overwhelm

I’m exhausted trying to hold everything together

Relationships

I keep repeating the same patterns in my relationships

Confidence & Self Worth

I don’t feel good enough

Life Changes

Life has changed and I’m struggling to adjust

Grief & Bereavement

I’m carrying the weight of grief or loss

About Tracy

Like many people, I spent years looking after everyone else before realising I'd lost touch with myself along the way.

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 35 years supporting people through change, challenge and uncertainty in professional roles. I loved helping others, but it wasn't until I experienced counselling myself that I truly understood the difference that being deeply heard and accepted can make.

Counselling gave me the space to slow down, understand the patterns I'd carried for years, and begin treating myself with the same compassion I so easily offered everyone else. It didn't change who I was—it helped me reconnect with who I'd always been.

That experience inspired me to retrain as a counsellor. Today, I combine professional training with lived experience to offer a warm, genuine and non-judgemental space where you don't have to have everything figured out.

I know how daunting it can feel to reach out for support. My hope is that, from the moment we meet, you'll feel accepted exactly as you are. Together, we can explore whatever has brought you here, at a pace that feels right for you.

How Sessions Work

I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. It certainly isn't easy to talk about the parts of life that feel painful or confusing. That's why I believe our relationship matters more than any particular technique. Feeling safe enough to be yourself is where meaningful change begins.

I'm not someone who simply sits quietly taking notes while you do all the talking. I'm warm, genuine and naturally curious about people. I'll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions and gently help you notice patterns, beliefs or ways of coping that may have become so familiar you've stopped seeing them.

Meaningful change begins when you feel safe enough to be yourself.

Together we'll explore whatever has brought you here. That might be anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, relationship difficulties, navigating change, or simply a sense that life doesn't feel quite how you'd like it to.

Some sessions may bring relief. Others may feel challenging. Often they're a mixture of both. My role isn't to tell you what to do or to have all the answers, but to walk alongside you as you discover your own.

My hope is that, over time, you'll leave sessions feeling a little lighter, a little clearer and more connected to yourself.
